The Art of Crafting MP Tequila

From Soil to Spirit

MP Tequila begins in the heart of Jalisco’s Los Altos region, where rich volcanic soil and abundant sunshine create the perfect conditions for cultivating 100% Blue Weber Agave. Hand-selected by expert jimadores at peak ripeness, each agave is a testament to nature’s finest work, delivering the subtly sweet and fruity flavors that define our tequila.

Slow Roasting for Deep Flavor

Our process starts with a meticulous slow roasting in traditional brick ovens. This gentle transformation breaks down starches into natural sugars, creating the rich, flavorful essence known as “honey water.” Unlike modern shortcuts, our time-honored methods ensure depth, complexity, and an unmistakable smoothness in every sip.

Sustainability at Our Core

We believe in honoring the land that gives us so much. After extracting the agave’s sweetness, the remaining fibers are repurposed as organic fertilizer, enriching the soil for future harvests. This zero-waste approach keeps our production both sustainable and environmentally responsible.

Fermentation & Distillation

To craft an ultra-smooth tequila, we introduce specially selected yeast strains that trigger fermentation, transforming sugars into alcohol. During distillation, we carefully remove unwanted compounds—the ‘heads’ and ‘tails’—keeping only the purest essence.

The Final Refinement

After fermentation, the liquid (called “mosto”) contains a low alcohol content (4-7%), similar to beer. Through precise distillation, we elevate it to 55-70% ABV, before carefully diluting it to 40% ABV (80 proof)—the perfect balance of strength and flavor.
